What you will need:

• An old plastic (2 litre) bottle
• Pieces of garden cane or twigs
• Modelling Clay
• String

Cut the top of the bottle off, please get a responsible person to do this

Put some modelling clay in the bottom of the bottle and insert the pieces of garden cane or twigs into the clay until the bottle is full.

You can decorate the bottle if you wish or just leave it as it is.

Then using the string hang the “bug hotel” in the garden.

It’s a fantastic way to encourage bees, ladybirds and other insects to make a home in your garden and in return for a home, they will do a great job of pollinating your plants and controlling pests like greenfly.
